About this policy

Anderson Murray Diagnostics Pty Ltd (ABN 99 628 955 582) ("we", "us", "our") provides cardiac diagnostic services, including 24 hour Holter monitoring, through pharmacies, medical centres and home visits.

We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use, store and share your personal information, including health information. We comply with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), the Australian Privacy Principles and, in New South Wales, the Health Records and Information Privacy Act 2002 (NSW).

What information we collect

Depending on how you deal with us, we may collect:

  • your name, phone number, email address, home address and postcode

  • your date of birth and Medicare number

  • the name and contact details of your GP

  • health information relevant to your test, such as your symptoms, medical history, medications and the recording and report from your Holter monitor

  • your preferred times for contact and home visits

You can deal with us anonymously or using a pseudonym for general enquiries. However, to provide a Holter monitoring service and bill Medicare, we need to identify you.

How we collect your information

We collect information directly from you when you:

  • submit an enquiry form, including forms on Facebook or Instagram

  • call, email or message us

  • attend a fitting at home, at a pharmacy or at a medical centre

We may also receive information about you from your GP or another referring doctor, and from the pharmacy or medical centre where your test is arranged.

When you submit a form through Facebook or Instagram, Meta Platforms passes your details to us. Meta's own privacy policy applies to how Meta handles your information.

Why we collect and use your information

We use your information to:

  • contact you about the service you enquired about

  • help arrange a referral with your GP

  • book and carry out your Holter monitor fitting, including at your home

  • have your recording reviewed and reported by a cardiologist

  • send your report to your GP or referring doctor

  • bill Medicare for your test

  • meet our legal, clinical and professional obligations

  • improve the quality and safety of our services

We will not use your information for any other purpose without your consent, unless the law allows or requires it.

Who we share your information with

We only share your information where it is needed to provide your service or where the law requires it. This may include:

  • your GP or referring doctor

  • the cardiologist who reviews and reports on your recording

  • Medicare (Services Australia), for billing

  • the pharmacy or medical centre involved in your test

  • IT, software and data storage providers who support our services, under confidentiality obligations

  • government agencies or others where required or authorised by law

We never sell your information, and we do not share it with other businesses for their marketing.

Marketing

If you enquire through one of our advertisements, we will contact you only about the service you enquired about. We will not send you unrelated marketing without your consent. You can ask us to stop contacting you at any time.

Storage and security

We store your information securely in electronic systems protected by access controls, passwords and other safeguards, and limit access to staff and contractors who need it for their role.

We keep health records for as long as the law requires. In NSW this is generally at least 7 years from your last contact with us, or until age 25 for information collected while you were under 18. When we no longer need information, we destroy or de-identify it securely.

Information held or processed overseas

We store your information in Australia. The only exception is enquiries submitted through Facebook or Instagram, which Meta Platforms may process outside Australia before passing them to us. Once we receive your details, they are held in Australia.

You can ask to see the personal and health information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it if it is inaccurate, out of date or incomplete. Contact us using the details below. We will respond within 30 days. In limited circumstances allowed by law we may decline access, and if so we will explain why.
